Research trip to Allen County Public Library

**** Sharon had a great time and hopes to do it again sometime when others can join her. If interested, let her know when you might want to do it again!

====
Sharon Pike will lead a research trip to the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana, September 13-15, 2007 (Thursday - Saturday).

This library holds the second largest genealogy collection in the United States, second only to the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Please check the website for an overview of their massive holdings. Of particular interest is the huge periodical collection which is indexed as the Periodical Source Index (PERSI). PERSI can be found online on Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest Online, which is free at many local libraries. Thousands of articles from local historical society quarterly publications about Meriwethers can be located, including obituaries, biographies, wills, bibles, etc. Volunteers to help with this massive search are needed, if interested.

Be sure to use the library's online catalog or the PERSI index to plan your research.
